HumanHeartNature All-Natural Deodorant with Sunflower Review

I've known this brand since 2009. Back then, it wasn't that popular (I learned that it was launched just months ago, November 2008). What caught my eye aside from its affordability, is its campaign towards utilizing Philippines' natural resources to come up with a range of natural-products that is "PRO-PHILIPPINES, PRO-POOR, & PRO-ENVIRONMENT".
logois about loving the Philippines, loving the environment and loving our families as we provide only the safest and purest world-class ingredients for them. These are effective AND affordable organic and natural personal care products that feel as good on your skin as they do in your heart. We hope that you will find a sense of peace and purpose knowing that your everyday choices have a positive impact on the poor, our country and our planet.
100% NATURAL. Beat that! Sure there are a lot of great products in the market. We were accustomed to them and we patronize them. When this brand first came out, I was like,"Wow, that's a break from all those chemical-laid products. Gotta try it." After ordering my first products from them, which are the  Aloe Vera & Guava Facial Wash for troubled skin (now pulled out) and the lip balm with natural sun protection, I was in love.

I know some girls have underarm issues. I used to shave and use chemical-laid antiperspirant deodorant. The result? Dark, stubbly and chicken skin-textured armpits. And trust me when I say I've tried A LOT of lightening deos. Rexona with Sunflower used to have a good chemistry with my skin, it really lightened my pits with months of continuous use. But I noticed that my school uniforms had yellow stains! Also, sometimes I think it's got that stinky smell especially when you've been out in the sun for too long. Same goes with the other deos I've tried, nothing really seemed to work. Then I recently discovered HHN All-Natural Deodorant, there was a sigh of relief.

    HumanHeartNature All-Natural Deodorant with Sunflower
    Php84.75/50 ml

    Pros:
1.100% Natural. The ingredients are to die for:
    2. Affordable (I bought mine for Php89.75 at Shopwise)
    3. DOES NOT CONTAIN ALUMINUM (such as Aluminum Chlorhydrate which is common in chemical-laid products. A much debated topic nowadays is that aluminum in antiperspirants can cause cancer and Alzheimer's disease)
    4. Has a fresh floral scent (all natural)

    Cons:
    1. A little watery formulation, though it is easy to dry
    2. A little amount of product seeps through the roller. The packaging could be improved. (Or is it because of its watery consistency?)
    3. If you sweat a lot, play sports or do a lot of physical activities, you might as well think hard before trying on this deo. It's not an antiperspirant yet. Also, this can only provide very minimal odor protection, so re-application throughout the day is necessary.

I've been using this deo for about 2 weeks. In the first week, I noticed that my UA lighten a bit (I've also switched to waxing 2 months ago, to avoid constant hair removal thus causes irritation and darkening of UA). At first, it offered a good odor protection (although I can't rely on this to keep the sweating at bay). But on the succeeding days, I noticed that after just a few hours, I can sense that unwanted smell (horror!). I don't bring the product with me, aside from the fact that it'll be too hassle to reapply, I still have to let it dry. I was so conscious of extending my arms because others might discover that I smell (duh). What can I say? It's very gross and unladylike. Wa poise. So I just made those quick bathroom trips, patting my UA dry with a tissue and applying baby powder on the surrounding area and then instead of using my usual EDT, I just used a baby cologne so that it won't compensate or stuff. Luckily as I kept using it, I noticed that I don't smell that bad anymore. Maybe it just took some time to work in harmony with my body chemistry. And now, though I still sweat a lot, I don't smell (only if I sniff really hard, hahaha). If HHN improves this into an antiperspirant deodorant, I promise to stay with this FOREVER.

SanSan Hydrating Color Dew Lipstick Review

***Before I begin with this review, please take note that I will post pictures of the products so that you'll see that I really USE them. I dropped my digital camera (yes, I'm still using a digi cam!) and the lens won't function :-( I had it checked but, gack! repair would cost me around Php5000! So I'm still thinking whether I'll have it fixed ('cause it's a precious gift from mom!) or I'll just buy a new one. But don't worry, I'll upload the pictures soon!***

    SanSan Hydrating Color Dew Lipstick
    Php85/4g

I bought this one together with the Thick Lash mascara. I got it in shade 07, a really nice deep red color. What can I say, it's really hydrating! I left my vanity kit at home and I really can't stand without anything on my lips, it just feels too dry and bland. Red lips is my favorite when I feel lazy to work on my eye makeup. I just curl my lashes then apply mascara, and skip any eyelid base and eyeliner altogether. Voila! A look that's inspired by Anne Curtis. (I saw her at Makati before and I was in awe. She's so pretty and cute in person!)

    Pros:
    1. Affordable
    2. Truly hydrating! Since I forgot my vanity kit the day I bought this, I didn't have even a lipbalm with me. So I had no choice but to apply this alone. It didn't dry up my lips and the color is very flattering (for medium-skinned beauties, like me! hehe)
    3. Has SPF 15 as well as Vitamins A, C and E
    4. Good packaging. It's small and can be easily stashed in any purse.
    5. Has a fairly good staying power, compared with my Maybelline Watershine Lipstick. It didn't fade that much even after eating and drinking. It leaves a nice just-bitten stain on my lips.
    Cons:
    1. Has a strong vanilla scent. At least for me I think it smells like Victoria's Secret Vanilla Lace. I mean, I'm okay with lip sticks being slightly scented, but in this case, it's just overpowering.
    Overall Rating: 3.5/5
I love pretty much everything about this product, except for its overpowering scent. It kind of makes me dizzy. I would think twice of repurchasing it, or totally forget about it. I'm not into testing the products in stores like this, so I wasn't able to see how it really feels on my lips. It was just an impulsive buy and it's cheap, anyway. Like I've said in my previous post, SanSan can deliver quality products but there's always a little drawback in it.

San San Thick Lash Waterproof Mascara Review

Hooray for my first product review! :)

I bought it this afternoon while I was at Park Square 1, Makati. I was actually planning to buy a Maybelline mascara (personally, I think Maybelline's really good at it). Prior to this, I have purchased a mascara from The Face Shop, and unluckily it didn't suit me. Yes, mascara is not a one-size-fits-all kind of thing; it's a common misconception.

Okay, just a quick mascara 101:
If you'll notice, aside from there are Waterproof and Non-waterproof type of mascara, there are also a Volumising and a Lengthening type of mascara. Volumising mascara have waxes and polymers, great to work with thin and short lashes. I remember watching one of Michelle Phan's previous video, she said that those who have thin and sparse lashes like her should use a dry formula mascara. I was confused because it wouldn't be normally specified in a mascara tube whether it's a dry formula or not. Then I came across her Mascara 101 video. Dry formula mascara usually contains waxes and polymers to intensify the thickness of the lashes. I also learned that there's a water formula mascara, a good choice if you're one of the lucky girls blessed with full and long lashes and using a mascara is just to glam it up. I suggest that you watch the video and get educated before you reach for that wand!

Okay , back to my San San mascara review.

San San Thick Lash Waterproof Mascara
    Php115/Net wt. 10g
    Available in Black and Brown
**also available in Long Lash variant**
      Pros:
      1. Affordable and generous net weight.
      2. It really thickens and curls my lashes!
      3. Has Vitamins A, C and E "commonly known as anti-oxidants that nourish, protect and give a healthy look to the skin."
       Cons:
      1. The packaging is good, it's actually comparable to any mascara. The circumference is that of a 10 centavo coin and the length of the tube is 5 in. Although I'm not raving for the quality of the design. It's not as "artistic" looking as drugstore products (that explains the price.)
      2. Has a little funny scent, but I think I'll get used to it (it's not a major con though)
      3. The consistency is a bit watery, you'd have to wipe off any excess from the wand before using it or you'll end up having too much on your lashes (read: clumps).
      Overall Rating: 4/5
I am yet to enjoy this mascara for a couple more months, and from then I'll decide whether I'll repurchase or not. SanSan is an affordable quality line, and the performance of their product is actually good. Althoug because of the affordability, some of the their product's features have to take the backseat (in this case, the watery consistency and smell of the mascara, as well as the design of the packaging). But still, would you actually choose a product with really good packaging and highly paid models but their products' performance suck? (I have a brand in mind, but I'm saving it for up coming reviews)

new in blogspot :) ***PLEASE READ!!!***

Hi girls! It's my first time here in blogspot :) I've decided to create an account mainly to share my reviews regarding makeup :) I LOVE MAKE UP, although I was not really into it when I was younger (I didn't have anything but a lip balm and baby powder when I was in high school!). I was inspired by Gwen Stefani when she was quoted saying:
“I want to be a guy, but I want to wear a lot of makeup.”
Because I was a tomboy then and I actually cringe seeing young girls with too much makeup on (back then, I think rosy cheeks is too much, seriously). But now, I'm always on the lookout for worth-your-money makeup! I mean, I love Michelle Phan (in case you're hiding under a rock, or haven't discovered the beautiful makeup industry, she's YouTube's #1 Makeup guru! check her out :D ), she's my inspiration and I believe I've watched most of her videos, but her makeup is sponsored by LancĂ´me (read: pricey). If there's anything I've learned over time, it's got to be Beauty doesn't necessarily have to be expensive. I'm a sucker of drugstore brands. (Maybelline and Revlon are my heroes) The most expensive makeup I own are from The Body Shop. In case I have other than that, it's either they're gifts or it's really a splurge-worthy item.

**It is personal choice that I can't disclose my REAL identity with you. I wouldn't want to deal with any difficult people (let's face it, it happens). I just want to SHARE my thoughts, MAKE UP-RELATED OR NOT, and that's it. I don't care about being recognizable, at all. I just wanna sit here with a cup of coffee and my recent beauty finds to share on a review with all of you. Thanks for understanding and God bless! :-)**
